In this video, I’ll show you how to make purse tabs and attach them to a bag.
I’ve included a PDF document with purse tabs in 4 different styles and 2 different sizes. Before you begin, please download that file here: Purse Tabs
You can also find the SVG Files (for use in electric cutting machines) here: Purse-Tabs-SVG

Love your videos and your patterns. Thankyou Sara
Hi Sara! I use mostly d-rings or o-rings and sliders in my bags. I do also use quite a few swivel hooks. Thanks for the tutorial.
Nice work! I been using a lot of grommets, then D-rings.
Thank you so much Sara
Thank you so much! These really spruce up bags with exterior tabs.
Love all your hacks, tips, and tutorials!
Hi, your presentation was excellent. My question is, how do you attach a tab to a purse that has one side seam? Is it placed after a zipper is installed or before? Does it become part of the seam? If so, one one side only. Or one tab on one side and the other tab on the other side?
Thank you!
Jada
Hi Jada! You could either sew the tab on top of each side seam (such as with the Emblem Duffle Bag); this would be after the side seam is sewn. Or you could stagger the tabs (have it slightly to the right of the seam on either side); if you did it this way, make sure to stay clear of the seam allowance where that side seam will eventually be. The tabs in the latter example can be sewn while the bag is still flat, so it would be somewhat easier.
Watched the video and it said I could download tabs here but I don’t see a download link. Can you please direct me? Thanks
Hi Karen, I’ll email you directly, thank you!
Thank you!
