Description
Supplies Needed to Make This Bag (please use quilting cotton or similar)
- 2 yard/metre of Exterior Fabric
- 2-1/2 yards/metres of Lining Fabric
- 2/3 yard/metre of Solid Fabric
- Optional: 1 yard of cheap fabric/muslin (will not be seen in the finished bag) if you are using the 1/2” craft foam
- 1-2/3 yard/metre of foam interfacing (By Annie’s Soft and Stable, Pellon Flex Foam, Bosal In-R-Form, or automotive headliner; if using Flex Foam, it is only 20” wide so please purchase 3-1/2 yard)
- 4 yards/metres of 20” wide Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex fusible woven interfacing (or medium-weight fusible interfacing)
- 1/4 yard/metre of Pellon #809 Decor Bond OR Decovil Light
- 1 yard/metre of Pellon Peltex OR Decovil Heavy
- Optional: 1/2” craft foam (to pad sides, front, and back of the bag) – 24” x 36”
- Handbag zippers (I used 4 yards zipper-by-the yard and 7 pulls):
-46” for top zip closure (you may prefer 2 pulls)
-46” for front pocket (you may prefer 2 pulls)
-20” for mesh pocket in lid
-12” for small clear vinyl pocket
-18” for large clear vinyl pocket - 1/2 yard of mesh fabric
- 1/4 yard of 12 gauge clear vinyl
- 2 yards of 5/8” (or 3/4” will work as well) fold-over elastic (I used By Annie fold-over elastic)
- 6” long piece of 1” Velcro (hook and loop closure)
- 4-1/2 yards/metres of 1” wide nylon strapping
- Two 1/4” plywood boards 8” x 10” with rounded corners (if you prefer a single board, 17-3/4” x 10-1/4” with rounded corners)
- Samsonite Compact Folding Luggage Cart (if using a different brand of luggage carrier, please see note in Step #50)For optional side adjustable strap:
- Two 1” d-ring or 1″ triangle ring
- Two 1” swivel clip
- 1” metal slider
- 3 yards/metres of 1” wide nylon strapping
